A dental crown is a tooth-shaped precious metal piece that is placed over the affected tooth or an abutment, should it be part of a dental implant procedure. When the natural tooth and root is still healthy, it is given a cylinder shape and then the dental crown is cemented onto it.

Visa estimated 11 million people globally leave their home countries each year for medical care.
The Global Dental Crown and Bridges Market is estimated to reach USD 6.62 billion by 2021. People will always need dental crowns to restore good looks, normal teeth function, and maintain oral health.
Dental specialists say that dental crowns are a second chance to your teeth: they support damaging teeth and also prevent further tooth decay. Dental crowns can also help fix dental bridges or provide support to oversized fillings.
Dental implants ensure the ultimate comfort. Most people don’t even realize having a dental crown, given how natural and discrete it is. Based upon the resources used to fit a dental crown, how you maintain your oral hygiene, your eating habits, and the overall condition of adjacent teeth and gums, a dental crown can last up to 15 years or more.
This oral procedure is a way superior alternative to dental bridges, overdentures, and removable dentures.

Often times, people postpone a dental crown fitting procedure in lack of more affordable finance options. Due to the high dental treatment costs available in Western Europe, oral health can easily take second place when it comes to priorities.

Dental Crown Time Requirements
Although a single tooth dental crown placement session usually lasts 1 hour, you would need 2 visits in average. The procedure itself is fairly straightforward, although it can take some time. It really depends on the treatment procedure and level of tooth damage.
First, an impression of the tooth is taken to aid the application of the dental crown. This is then sent away to the laboratory to be moulded. Once the dentist receives the finished crowns (average 1-3 weeks), they are fitted under local anesthetic and cemented on the natural tooth/implant.
- – consultation and designing a treatment plan
- – shaping the damaged tooth
