How much do dental veneers cost?

How much do dental veneers cost? The mark of Hollywood beauty is represented by the ultra-thin shells of tooth-colored composite or porcelain, which are known as “veneers”. Invented by California dentist Charles Pincus in 1928, who applied them temporarily to the teeth of actors, dental veneers are nowadays an available option to all the people.

Are they also an affordable option, though?

We are going to delve deeper into the subject and give you the answers. Prior to this, if you want to read more general information about dental veneers you can find our Cost Guide on Dental Veneers Abroad first.

Dental Veneers Cost: The consultation

Getting a consultation is the first thing you should do in order to find out most details about prices of this treatment. We at Mediwhere always require pictures and X-rays from our patients in order to proceed further. Afterwards, we send them to our doctors and they create a personalized treatment plan, including the price. Depending on these, they determine whether you are a candidate for dental veneers or not.

The answer is a complex one as it all depends on the patient’s general health, potential complications, veneer material and brand. The dentist will always discuss with a patient if these are the best option or if there are any alternatives to make their smile beautiful.

Dental Veneers Cost: The used materials

Dental veneers can be made either of composite or porcelain. The first material is the least expensive one and the doctor can easily apply the composite veneers during one session. Their lifetime expectancy is not a long one- 5-8 years with proper care – and you can opt out for them if your teeth are not badly damaged.

Although they are more expensive, porcelain veneers are more durable than composites and they last longer (up to 25 years). Prices vary from £225-£290 per tooth at our clinics in Romania, compared to the prices in UK £500– £1.000 per tooth.

Porcelain veneers are crafted in a laboratory by a ceramist; therefore, the cost of these translucent restorations is worthwhile. You will pay more due to the artistic and technical skill of the ceramist and of the dentist who applies them. Our clinics have their own laboratories from which you will get the best results.

The number of teeth being treated

If you suffer from unattractive teeth, dental veneers will definitely solve your cosmetic dental issues, by restoring the natural appearance of a healthy smile. They are not a cheap option, but they will wonders to your confidence and personal life.

Not sure how many veneers do you need?

Our dentists will decide if you have to pay for 3-6 porcelain veneers which will cost from £540-1.080, or 8-16 porcelain veneers, in which you will invest £1.440-£2.880. There is also a risk of damaging the underlying tooth, in that case you might need root canals which will increase the total cost.

Before you decide on the shape, width, length and the color of veneers, the doctors will recommend you teeth whitening. Veneers made of porcelain can’t be whiten and the only way to change their color is to have them redone. The ideal is to get teeth whitening first then to have veneers to match. Thus achieving a long lasting aesthetic result and a great smile.

The location where the treatment is performed

The cost of this complex dental work also depends on the location where you choose to have the veneers placed. The prices vary widely by the region of the world, the country.

While in UK you pay £700 for a porcelain veneer, at our clinics in Romania you will pay from £225 for the same quality.

Depending where you choose to travel to, the decision may save you a lot of money. You can also read our 5 reasons why you should target Romania for dental care abroad.
